SUPERStage 2010 (SummerStage's alter-ego) is designed with your child in mind – the shy kindergartner, the stagestruck preteen, the high school student with big dreams. SUPERstage Employment Opportunities Creative Theater Ages 4 – 6 Children will experience the wonder and excitement of theater as they dive into great children’s literature. The adventure begins with games designed to encourage exploration, develop concentration skills and improve self-esteem. Children express themselves through performance, music, movement, visual art and acting out stories, familiar and new. Come dress up, create characters and join in the fun! Session I, June 21 – July 2 | Session II, July 12 – July 23 | Session III, July 26 – August 6 TUITION: $300 Registration Form Acting and Musical Theater Ages 7 – 12 Students have a blast working as an ensemble to put on a show! Musical Theater places emphasis on healthy singing and telling a story through song, while acting introduces kids to creating a character and taking the stage. With the guidance of professional artists and educators, students develop and cultivate theater skills that will serve them well in life. Come for the morning, afternoon or stay all day! TUITION: $300 PER SESSION Registration Form Workshop Week: June 14 – 18 Workshop Week is the perfect introduction to Dallas Theater Center and the magic of theater! These one-week mini-camps are a great opportunity for "first-timers", families with busy summer schedules or, when combined with a two-week camp, the die-hard theater kid. Workshop Week Camps are designed to either stand alone or complement our two-week sessions. Pre-College Actor Training Program Ages 13 – 18 The Pre-College Actor Training Program (ATP) provides advanced training for students desiring an intensive theater experience, under the guidance of professional actors and directors. During the three-week ATP program, students are immersed in a variety of classes, in addition to their core acting curriculum, which may include: Voice, Movement, Improv, Audition, Directing, Musical Theater, Design, Playwriting, or Shakespeare. Extreme Acting for Adults: Christina Vela, member of the Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company, will lead actors in a scenework class inspired by Arthur Miller's masterpiece Death of a Salesman AND award-winning playwright Neil Labute's trilogy, The Beauty Plays. Through intense exercises, juicy text analysis and gritty character exploration aspiring artists will build the acting muscles they need! Come on, you know you want to.... Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts in a new Learning Lab program.
